Data Center AI Power Demand Continues to Surge

When you hear of how AI is driving a data center boom, the hype (most of it, at least) is real.  As you’ve likely read, a Chat GTP query requires 10 times the electricity to process as a Google search does.

As a result, data center demand is booming.   After data center power demand was flat for most of the 2010s, Goldman Sachs reports that power required by data centers is projected to grow 5x from 2018 to 2030 both in the US and worldwide.  That is understandably stressing the supply chain in both the construction and power manufacturing worlds.

Very few data centers nationwide are capable of cooling the heat generated by AI servers, and meeting those requirements is an even rarer find in Pennsylvania.   If you have AI needs unable to wait for the data center building boom to catch up,  you can read about infrastructure that can handle AI requirements right now in the Philadelphia market by clicking here.
