The scientific acumen of the data center industry is well-understood, but widely underrated.  This is an industry where multiple facets of engineering (construction, electrical, thermal, computer, networks, etc.) come together to provide the backbone of the digital transformation of our society.   

We’re constantly amazed by the ingenuity shown by our customers in their industries.   Being the forerunners of progress has been common in the history of our country, and data centers are yet another sector in which the USA has been the clear leader, both in innovative thinking and making it happen.   And there are a lot of brilliant people willing to thing outside of the box when it comes to IT infrastructure. 

Even the concept of  data centers in outer space have been examined recently.   While celestial data centers would likely be decades away from being workable at any kind of scale, if they ever are, the fact that the concept is even being explored makes us proud to be in an industry where the thinking is so big. 

As operators of a land-based data center serving the market that is home to the Declaration of Independence, this July 4th, we’ll be celebrating the tremendous innovation and never-ending progress enabled by the founding fathers of this great American experiment.
